Humberto Mora Franco
About
Humberto is an architect and consultant with over 13 years of international experience across South America, Australia, and the UK. He has worked within large multidisciplinary teams on complex, city-shaping developments and now focuses mostly on existing buildings, including retrofit strategies and decarbonisation pathways, at the building and portfolio scale. His approach combines design expertise with data-driven analysis to support evidence-based decision-making.
Alongside practice, he is a part-time PhD in the Sustainable Design Group. He previously completed the MSt in Sustainability Leadership for the Built Environment (IDBE) at the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership where he investigated retrofit at scale strategies in the UK. His current research examines the impact of urban heat risk on the residential building stock performance in London, under the supervision of Ronita Bardhan. He is particularly interested in the integration of data-driven and quantitative methods at different scales to inform built environment challenges.
