Jiayu is a postdoctoral research associate at Department of Architecture, University of Cambridge. She is a member of Sustainable Design Group.
She currently works in the EU Horizon funded project Healthy Ship for You (HS4U), developing design and operation strategies for healthy cruise ship.
She is broadly interested in the application of data-driven intelligence in sustainable built environment. Her doctoral thesis works on understanding the future of workspace with evidence-based design approaches. She completed her MPhil in Architecture and Urban Studies degree at University of Cambridge with a distinction and her BSc in Urban Planning, Design and Management degree at the Bartlett School of Planning, UCL with first-class honours. She was also a placement student with enrichment award at the Alan Turing Institute in 2022-2023.
